I was at a store today and a package of colorful balls were staring right at me. I picked up the package to start reading it and realized that they were plastic re-usable ice cubes.
The theory about these is that with the different colors, you could distinguish your drinks from others and it is also reusable.
Now a few things started to bother me about these products. For one, I have accidentally choked on a few real ice cubes during my lifetime and could only imagine if these things got lodged in my throat. The idea seemed like a cool one at first, but after I thought about it, it might not be wise to have this at my next get together, even if the colorful reusable ice cubes will distinguish the drinks.
Another thing, isn't water from the tap "free"? I personally like my ice cubes made from water, if not then I opt for a popsicle, but plastic... No Thanks. What do you think?

I happen to love these. I grew up with them too. The lovely thing about these is that it doesn’t water down your drink. As with real ice cubes, I am constantly refilling and adding more ice to make the drink palatable again. Which in essence makes me drink more and consume more calories. *shrug* Everyone is different though….
HI Shay- I understand each have their opinions and I am glad a person who like these explained how and why they like it. Have you ever had a near choking incident by any chance?
