The other night, I saw an infomercial on the Wow Containers and thought to myself...wow what a great idea. I didn't pick up the phone to call to place an order but as the week rolled by, I noticed my frustrations with my own collection of containers.
I couldn't find the proper lids, I couldn't find the proper size and I remembered the wow container as being a great alternative. In frustration, I threw out all of my old plastic containers and placed an order for my wow containers.
Not only does it save me space in my designated container drawer, but it also helps when I can find the proper lid and size for the items I am trying to store. I recommend this useful kitchen gadget for anyone that has the same frustrations that I have had. I just hope you don't get to the point of throwing out your containers like I did, but here is a useful solution. To learn more: Wow Containers WW011104 The Interchangeable Food Storage System! Well I also threw out all my plastic containers in frustration and ordered the WOW containers they seem to fill the job, all neatly stacked in so little room, Wow. Then today not even a month later one of the lock tabs on one of the lids broke off so that won’t seal anymore. Wonder how long before the rest of them start to do that?
I noticed some of them are awfully hard to open and close.
Let me know if more breaks… The ones I have are still ok, but I use them once in a while. Thanks for the info!
Almost half of mine have either broken the seal tab or the locking tab…and some of them broke off the first time I tried using them (they are really good at what they do but way to easy to snap off).
the tabs seem to be a problem and I have ordered another set to put through a tough review and “attempt” to break the tabs and see how much stress it could take. I will have a video review in a month. thanks for the comments and letting others know.
I agree. The containers are great, but what is not so great is the WOW container people sold my telephone number to what seems to be every marketing company in the US. I am now getting several phone calls a day from telemarketers….some of whom even have the last 4 digits of the credut card I used to buy the wow containers…..How do I know it was the wow container folks who are responsible???? It’s the only thing I have purchased online in three years, and I had a different card number and phone number when I did. I am frustrated, and sorry I ever bought anything from these people. If you don;t want your phone ringing off the hook….go buy these at Wal-Mart…..they now have them. Steer clear of giving WOW any of your personal information or everyone will end up with it and your phone will become a real problem.
Steer clear of the containers they leak at the seal and the tabs break off.
Believing the WOW CONTAINERS would be the answer to any and all container problems, I threw away several containers that I had had for several YEARS simply because they didn’t all stack neatly or save space. I wish now I had kept them!
–Immediately, I discovered these containers don’t “lock” all that easily. And some, once locked, are even more difficult to UNlock.
–Within a week, one container cracked down the side – I have no idea how.
–Also in the first week, I discovered by accident that the containers are not as leak-proof as containers that can’t be “mixed and matched.”
–After a couple or three weeks, the part of the tabs that snap into the slots to create the locked affect had broken on three or four pieces. I expect this trend will continue, eventually rendering this 40-piece finger-mangler useless.
–The claim that these containers keep “odors out and flavours in” is completely false. I found that out one day when I opened the fridge and the odor of some freshly chopped onion about knocked me over backwards. I ended up putting the WOW CONTAINER of onions in a zip-lock freezer bag. So if the onion odor was escaping the closed/locked container…how fresh do these containers keep your foods??
–These containers are not dishwasher friendly – they are space hogs, and even on the top shelf, will be tossed around. Pull out that top rack carefully, or you’ll dump dirty dishwater all over the clean dishes below!
Whoever came up with these containers had a good idea as far as being able to mix and match tops for bottoms and bottoms for tops. Nothing worse than having misjudged the size container you needed. But the manner in which these containers are secured shut needs to be improved. Until then…I’d say don’t waste your money. I guess “beware if it sounds too good to be true” definitely applies in this case. I now see why they began selling these two [sets] for the price of one. One set is definitely not worth $20…and there is no way you are getting a $50 value as claimed.
these containers sound great, but the tabs break and you can really mangle your fingers trying to open and lose them. Not user friendly at all. Glad I did not throw away my old reliable containers. Please let the buyer beware on these.
Just received my WOW containers. Great concept but with one BIG PROBLEM…
THEY ARE NOT AIR TIGHT!!
The seals are rubbish. Plastic is brittle, have already cracked one trying to push them together.
In the first 2 minutes of opening the package I suspected that the seals were no good. So to test them out I half filled one with water, locked them together (even with the extra tabs) and turned it on it’s side. The water dribbled out the corners!
Microwave Safe – CHECK
Dishwasher Safe – CHECK
Freezer Safe – CHECK
Air Tight – FAIL
Most people would simply assume that food containers are air tight which is why you wouldn’t expect to see this as an advertised feature. Guess again!
I’ll be sending ours back tomorrow.
Hope someone makes a better version.
It always bothers me to hear/read about hard working citizens being ripped off by infomercial companies. If you would like to own a working, high quality, space-saving kitchen accessory that’s reasonably priced, check out http://www.handygizmos.com. You’ll have different shipping options (UPS and Parcel Post), and see all the charges, including shipping, before confirming your order. Plus, if you call the customer support number, you’ll definitely talk to a live person here in the US.
my son bought me the wow containers from Marshalls in middletown ct I love them but the tabs on the container keep breaking off the first one broke when we opened the box and tried it out then three more tabs on three more broke i am very upset because I love the idea and concept but what good are they if the tabs keep breaking I am afraid to use them.
I will purchase another set and do a review to get to the bottom of the “tabs” and put them through the test. Thanks for the comment!

Have never been so disgusted.I threw all my packaging away so I don’t know where i can send them back and give them a piece of my mine on this product. If anyone has an adress or some contact information would appreciate it! thanks
Does anyone have a good alternative to suggest?
STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!
I ordered these wow containers in December 2010.. After submitting all of my information I receive my order total… frustration & panic hit me all at once. After searching and searching, we found a contact number to call and cancel. It was completely automated, but we canceled the order with relief.
Here it is February, 2011 and while checking my bank account I see WOW took their money anyways. I checked at customerstatus.com and it looks like they are on there way… I will refuse them, but they charge almost as much for shipping and handling as they do the containers. They took $66.70 out of my account… $34.90 for the containers and $31,80 for shipping and handling. I am furious!! These people SCAM people.. They offer an additional set free, and say you just pay additional S&H.. Which is an OUTRAGEOUS price.. The order was canceled and they processed it anyways. So, now I’m returning it, but will still be out $31.80 for S&H when they shouldn’t of shipped at all. Also, if I did want them, I certainly didn’t want to wait 2 months for them.
AGAIN…STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!
Unfortunately, I ordered two sets of these containers before I read these reviews! When I tried to attach some of the lids to the containers, the tabs either broke or would not snap shut on most of the lids. And they started to split down the side of the container. I want to return the two sets, but cannot find any email address or phone number for customer service for the WOW containers. When I called the phone number on my order receipt and on their website for customer service, I get a recorded message asking if I want to order more space bags! I listened through several options and you can’t talk to a live person so I just gave up. Can anyone tell me how to return these containers? An address or phone number? Thanks.
